Polymer Syntheses

Polymerization techniques

  • Homopolymerizations
    • synthesis of high density polyethylene (HDPE) in gaseous and suspension mode
    • synthesis of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) in gaseous, bulk and suspension mode
    • catalyst activation and prepolymerization could be performed directly in the polymerization reactor
    • hydrogen is continuously supplemented during whole experiment, concentration in gas-phase is kept constant and analyzed by on-line GC

  • Statistical (random) copolymerizations
    • synthesis of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) materials containing higher 1-olefin co-monomers (1-butene, 1-hexene, 1-octene etc.)
    • synthesis of statistical copolymers of propylene and ethylene
    • synthesis of statistical terpolymers of propylene, ethylene and higher 1-olefins
    • hydrogen and co-monomers are continuously supplemented during whole experiment, concentrations of all components in gas-phase are kept constant and analyzed by on-line GC

  • Sequential multi-step copolymerizations
    • 2 step synthesis
      • standard technique for impact resistant copolymer (ICP) production,
      • consists of homopolymerization and copolymerization part
      • before homopolymerization part catalyst activation and prepolymerization could be performed
      • experiments could be performed in gas-gas and bulk-gas modes
      • hydrogen and co-monomer are continuously supplemented during whole experiment and all polymerization steps, concentrations of all components in gas-phase are kept constant and analyzed by on-line GC
    • 3 and more steps
      • simulation of up to 5 reactor technologies could be performed according to the customer demands, bulk and gas-phase modes could be combined within one multi step experiment
      • hydrogen and co-monomers are continuously supplemented during whole experiment and all steps, concentration in gas-phase is kept constant and analyzed by on-line GC

  • Synthesis of special polyolefin materials
    • synthesis of polyolefin waxes (PP or RCP) on metallocene catalysts in bulk or suspension mode
    • synthesis of amorphous PP on metallocene and single-site catalysts in bulk or suspension mode
    • synthesis of highly isotactic, syndiotactic and atactic PPs on metallocene and single-site catalysts in bulk or suspension mode
    • synthesis of polybutene or butene-ethylene copolymers in bulk or suspension mode
